GIRL SCOUT’S YURT PROJECT
Project: 30′ round Yurt
Client: Girl Scouts of North East Ohio
Contractor: Metis Construction
Location: Camp Timberlane in Wakeman, Ohio
Description:
A 707 sf four-season tent structure located on the campground of the Girl Scouts of North East Ohio. The Yurt houses a modest kitchen, toilet rooms, and sleeping area, enough room for 16 girls and 1 adult.
The Yurt is portable, circular, has an accordion lattice wall, a tension band, radial rafters leading up to a central compression ring, and is covered in an insulated fabric covering. The tongue-and-grove wood plank flooring transitions to an exterior composite deck.
The Girl Scout troops will enjoy this tent structure for years.
